Within the framework of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Parks Canada, The Friends of the heritage of Long-Sault are happy to have presented to you "Wine Stories of the Country".
The Café of the Old Canal offered us a special menu consisting of local products with local wine and beer. I took advantage of this to taste a goat sausage sandwich from la Ferme La Longeraie.
Au cours de cette activité, j'ai fait connaissance avec M. Bernard Hallé, conteur, qui a partagé sa passion pour la navigation sur la rivière des Outaouais et plus particulièrement sur les canaux de celle-ci. Dans un texte intitulé «La petite histoire navigable de l'Outaouais», des faits et anecdotes méconnus de notre belle région ont été racontés. Il portait un beau costume d'époque, qui nous mettait dans l'ambiance de son conte.
Il y avait au programme également, l'ensemble de musique Gérald Richer. Gérald (violon) et Yvon (clavier), qui nous ramenait pendant la période des cageux et de leur musique préférée.

Le Café du vieux Canal nous proposait un menu spécial composé de produits locaux, le tout accompagné de vin et bière de la région. J'en ai profité pour déguster une sandwich à la saucisse de chèvre, fait par la ferme la Longeraie.

Wines Stories of the Country
Within the framework of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Parks Canada, The Friends of the heritage of Long-Sault are happy to have presented to you "Wine Stories of the Country".
During this activity, I got to meet with storyteller Mr. Bernard Hallé, who shared his passion for the history of navigation on the Ottawa river and more particularly on its canals. He gave us facts and anecdotes about the history of navigation on the Ottawa river. He was wearing a beautiful old costume that allowed us to get into the groove of his story.
The program also included the music group of Gérald Richer. Gérald (violin), Yvon (keyboard) brought us back in time with their music.

The activity began at about 2:00 pm and ended at 4:30 pm.
The admission to the site was free all day long.
